We use this information to respond to your request, investigate problems, provide support and improve Anchor.

We use this information only as needed to operate and secure the update service unless we clearly tell you otherwise.
8. Why we use personal information
Depending on the context, our lawful bases under UK data-protection law may include:
- Contract: where processing is necessary to provide Anchor, manage a licence, deliver an update or respond to a support request connected with your purchase.
- Legitimate interests: where necessary to operate, secure, improve and troubleshoot Anchor and our website, prevent licence abuse, and maintain appropriate business records, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: where we need to retain or disclose information to comply with law.
- Consent: where we specifically ask for consent for an optional use of information.
9. Who we share information with
We may use service providers to operate Anchor and Quiet Form Labs, including providers for merchant-of-record, checkout, payment and licensing services, website hosting, content delivery and security, email hosting, software-update distribution, and technical infrastructure.
We share only information reasonably necessary for those services.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights, or in connection with the sale or transfer of the business or relevant assets, subject to applicable law.
10. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism or on the service provider’s appropriate safeguards.
11. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including:
- support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve issues and maintain useful support history
- licence and transaction records for as long as needed to administer licences, handle disputes and meet legal or accounting requirements
- technical or security logs for a limited period appropriate to troubleshooting and security
Retention periods may vary where law requires a longer period.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights over your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, receive certain information in a portable format, and complain to a data-protection regulator.
In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
